Liverpool midfielder Alberto Aquilani has joined Juventus on loan with an option to purchase the player for €16 million at the end of the season.
The Italian joined Liverpool from Roma for €20 million last summer on a five-year deal, but he could not make an impact promting Roy hodgson to offer him out on loan.
It was confirmed last week that Hodgson planned to allow him return to Italy to enable him regain his fitness as he was not part of his first-team plans for this season, although he had suggested that it was not expected to be a permanent deal.
However, having completed what is believed to have been a rigorous medical, Juve have now confirmed that the deal includes an option to buy.
A statement on the club's official website read: "Juventus Football Club announces that an agreement with Liverpool F.C. for the free temporary acquisition of the registration rights of the player Alberto Aquilani has been reached.
"The agreement also includes the option right, to be exercised at the end of 2010-2011 season, for the definitive acquisition by Juventus of the football player at the price of €16 million, to be paid in three years."
